How much should I be paid as a live-in caregiver in North Carolina?

I am living in North Carolina, I am tring figure out how much should i be paid as live-in caregiver? I get free room and Board, but i keep myself available for during the hours 9am to 2 p.m and 10:00 pm until morning which i monitor for issue he would have. I also assist in bathing him and meal preparing and standard house chores. I maintain the outside grounds like cutting grass.,etc . I am trying figure what is appropriate wages i should be receiving if i get free room and Board???

Your profile does not provide much information other than you are caring for someone in assisted living. Is this person actually at home? Would a doctor agree the care is medically necessary? If payment is appropriate see an elder law attorney to draft a caregiver contract. Depending on medical needs free room and board may or may not be warranted.
