Find Care & Housing
My 88 year old mom broke both hips on different ocassions ,they had her transported DIRECTLY to a rehab both times
She was there once 4 weeks and the second 6 weeks. She then continued therapy with other on an out patient basis for quite some time. Hope this has given you some idea of what to expect.
Inpatient is the BEST way to go,they are cared for around the clock and get the correct therapy. She is now able to be mobile and has more confidence when walking, even though she uses a walker. I hope this has helped in some way. Blessings and good luck Virginia

Yes. I let them put my mom in a home for two weeks after a week in the hospital after a fall in town. I needed time to get a "hip kit" and the toilet seat done and the bath tub area fixed up with chair and sprayer. It has been about 6 years ago now but I remember that after getting a hip prosthesis, they need to keep at least a 90 degree angle for a few months. Do not want the joint to slip out!
