Depends on which county she is in. The funeral director should know the average cost for her area. The next factor is how fancy you want this to be, such as a 3 day wake, procession to church, church service, procession to grave, graveside service, memorial cards, guest book, flowers, headstone and so on. Average in Philadelphia is about $8000.

So funeral director says Philadelphia limit is $10,000 for burial (casket, services, etc). That should be in an irrevocable account. Was told the cost of the plot has no limit and is accounted for separately. Hoping this is correct but having trouble verifying it. Can anybody verify this is correct?
