I am starting to suspect a person diagnosed with FTD Dementia can live tens of years after diagnosis.

So lanejohn you look at facilities for this person, because caring for them on your own has a 30% chance of killing you first.

We can trace back the start of our mums FTD to 1999. Shes still with us at home.

Like other types of dementia, FTD shortens lifespan. Studies suggest that most people with FTD survive an average of six to eight years, but survival can range from two to 20 years.

Yes, a person can live a long time. Check out the web forum devoted to FTD, ftdsupportforumdotcom. You'll find many issues discussed.
