How long does it take to have someone placed in a VA home from beginning until placement?

Need to start the process of trying to place my 93 year old mother with dementia in a VA home due to no funds for a regular nursing home. She is a dependent of a deceased Veteran. Does anyone know the time frame of the process to get her placed?

You need to contact your local VA dept. As a dependent longer than the Vet I have been told. You will need all the Vets discharge papers. Marriage certificate. Income info. The VA rep will help you with the application. He/she should also be able to give you an idea of how long. Like anything, it will probably depend on if a room is available.
