She moved 16 days ago to Assisted Living. She had an adverse reaction to medication, and one has been removed. The facility is getting her up for meals, but then she returns to bed. She isn't eating much though there is food in her apartment.

Find Care & Housing
There really is not set amount of time in which a person becomes acclimated to their new surroundings. Your mom's been there a little over 2 weeks. I would think it takes more time than that.

More importantly, she shouldn't be laying in bed all day. She will grow very weak which will compromise her health. My mom did the same thing and it hastened her death.

Is your mom on an anti-depressant? Maybe you should talk to her doctor about it.
