No insurance company will write life insurance for a stroke victim until they have survived it 5 years.

I only know 5 stroke victims. One lasted 10 months. 3 made it past the 2 year mark. And one made it to 5 years, 1 month.

Combine that with not eating...a normal person cannot go more than 25 days without food. Frail, elderly typically start underweight.

So, I don't know the situation. I hope this person is in a facility where they can keep an eye on him.

My mom had a stroke 8/31, 66 years old, unable to swallow but we did comfort feedings, diabetic with other comorbidities. She passed 10/10. There is no way to determine this. The doctors originally gave her 2 to 14 days but she was strong right up until about 3 days before passing.
