Does she do this in her sleep? If so, it could be REM Sleep disorder, which is a symptom of Lewy Body Dementia. It's particularly dangerous for caregivers.

Jamie

You need to let the doctor know that the meds s/he prescribed didn't work and made things worse. There are other meds.

Sometimes, getting psych and sleep meds with elders is a bit of trial and error. One size does NOT fit all. Call the doctor in the morning and explain what isn't working.

Do u sleep in the same bed? If so, infest in a blow up mattress for you. If she is screaming and hitting at night she is probably having night terrors. If these are often, her doctor can give her medication for them.
