Find Care & Housing
Ne - the cost often depends on the needs of the patient. I know of larger hospices - mostly non-profits - that have in-house care - patients stay there until they pass away and fees are by the day or week for anything the patient needs. . To keep someone home during their final weeks/days just depends on how much the family can or will do. Often hospice at home is paid by insurance or medicare. To find out what's possible contact your closest area agency on aging for a referal to a hopsice care provider or call the social services dept of the hospital nearest your elder. They usually have a hospice organization and can tell you about policies, prices and services. Please note that hospice care must be ordered by a physician before they can come in to help and bill it to insurance or medicare.
