She seems like she is at the end of her life stage. I never had a problem transferring clients but this lady is not responsive and she just lays there with her arms always locked in front of her chest. She doesn't talk and has a G tube. She seems so stiff that I have a hard time trying to pull her legs apart just so I can put her diaper on. She feels so heavy like dead weight. How do you transfer someone that is dead weight?

My mother was dead weight from stroke damage. She required two people to both lift and change her. Please don’t attempt alone, either or both of you could be injured

Country Mouse is right. This lady sounds like at least a 2 assist. Is she catatonic? She can’t help at all? I might be tempted to talk to her family about other options. If she should become injured, it might go badly for you.

Not by yourself, for a start. Are you working alone? Do you have the right kind of moving and handling equipment?

There should be two of you and a slide sheet as a bare minimum, and I hope the lady is on a hospital bed.
