Norma, I am moving your question back to the front of the list to see if any caregivers out there are familiar with this.

I remember way back when my Mom didn't sign up for Medicare until she was 70 because she was getting excellent insurance from where my Dad was working. Dad was 5 years younger than Mom. My Mom was quite surprised to see a penalty for not signing up at 65. Guess the penalty must still be alive and well.
