Is he on Medicare or Medicaid? Medicare doesn’t pay family members for care. Is your FIL a veteran, preferably during war time? You may be able to get Aid and Attendance to use for services to help care for his dad. The money has to be used for care. They do audits periodically. You will have to pay it back if there is fraud involved.
