Far more information needed. What type of debt? Does she have any money? How close is she to end of life? Does she need the money for other things?

Not sure what you are asking.
Oops read wrong - What debt? Can you give us a little more background information like -your mum's health -dementia or not and other conditions, and where this debt fits in her life.
