Does your mother qualify for medicaid? Depending on your state's plan, there may be a small amount for you. Does your mother have enough money to pay you with a caregiver contract written up and signed?

Most caregivers are not paid and her dementia will reach a point where your care 24/7 will not be enough.

Can you really afford to give up your job with your own need for health insurance and future retirement?
