There is no money in the bank in his name, only mine. He suffers from Dimentia, which is getting progressively worse. Sadly, I am his only care taker, and I am worn completely out.on rest, no time off and I can only imagine what lies ahead. Will Medicade help me place him without taking any money from his meager monthly income? dollbay1966

Find Care & Housing
If your married you may need to consult with an Elder Lawyer. As a married couple, you may be able to keep the monthly income you both bring in if you prove you need it to live on. You can go to your county Social Services and speak to a Medicaid caseworker. Your husband can be placed in Longterm care with Medicaid paying. You remain in the home. Take someone with you when you meet with this person.

You can get him into a facility as Medicaid-pending. Find facilities that accept Medicaid and have open beds available.

Qualifying for Medicaid means one is assessed as needing LTC plus having financial need, so it's a 2-piece qualification. Medicaid will pay for his medical care and his SS will cover the custodial care. My MIL was on Medicaid. All but $90 a month went to pay for the facility room & board. She never needed even the $90 a month. All her needs were met by the facility.

Contact social services for your county, or your local Area Agency on Aging for information and resources.
