Contact your local government. It usually the Health and Human Services Department. In California qualification is based on the loved ones income. My mom makes to much money each month ($2,300 -- Social Security and a small investment check) to qualify. Very frustrating. All her money goes to her day program because she can't be left by herself so I pay for everything to do with her normal care. I love her and do it willing but it get's frustrating that I can't receive any financial help from the County because of her income, which again is just enough to cover her day program and that's it! Good luck!
