I am a senior. I was my moms health care giver after she passed away I was left with taking care of her property. I live in the attached apartment and rented her house. When the house sells it will be shared with 3 siblings. The tenants were a friends daughter, husband and children. She was in an accident and is still waiting for the Ins. to pay her out of which she has promised to pay all her back rent. It was very hard for me and I used what money I had to provide for up keep , taxes etc. All of this is over a period of about 4 years. She has moved to a smaller apartment and still maintains she will pay me back. If the sum was little I would not pursue the money and count it loss. However it is a very large sum of money. I am now unemployed due to lack of work. I now have Social Security which is $800.00 a month. The money she is to pay me would help a great deal and give me back what I had to use of my saved money for retirement. I have papers she has signed, I had asked her to have notarized, she never did. I am concerned that when she receives her settlement she will forget to pay me. When she came to me to discuss her situation and asked for help I was going to put a lien toward her settlement, one of her doctors had already paced one and apparently only one lien can be applied. Can you help?
