Without wasting my money on attorney. My sister has always bullied me and has control issues - tells untruths so I don't know what is correct. Mom is in higher care asst living with Alzheimers, Can I find out what authority sister has gotten for Mom. Only verbally agreed to medical decisions since she takes Mom to Dr, appts. Sister tries to keep me from talking to Mom by phone - I live far away. I cant tell anyone when I come to see Mom because she gets her early morning and keeps out till late for pure meanness so I use valuable time and expenses any miss time with Mom. Sister trumps up lies about things says Mom gets upset when she see me...Mom is so happy to see me and laughs - she truly loves me and I love her. I am same kin as Sister, Just hate family politics only the 2 sisters as relatives and will supposed to be money for Mom's care and split 50/50 so no favoritism. Sister has not spol\ken to mom for 5 yrs, at a times. I am youngest favorite/ sis jealous always., any way to find out through court or online what guardianship sis has...make her accountable for spending mom's money/

I spent 3,000 my money in attorney fees a 4 yrs ago same type issue getting to talk to Mom. Sis kept getting unlstd phone #s changing. All I got was letter written to give me access to talk with Mom. Atty said sis had medical poa but couldn't tell me much more. That is why I considered atty waste of money. atty wanted me to stay inhotel month while he tried to get hering with judge - I could only stay 2 wks. Live long distance away. Sis took mom out 6am supposedly for dentist apt - just so I couldn't be with her. Only 2 of us small family and Mom - small family. Mom is always so happy when we talk or see each other. Sis has kept friends and any others away. Mom 91 - sis 71, I'm 67.
Life at these ages should just be good - hate the bullying.

And I can't help but add that thinking attorneys are a waste of money is a big mistake.

You're mom's favorite. OMG. I was my mom's favorite daughter all of her life. Course I was an only child. ;)

Stop making this a popularity contest. Call the nursing home and ask them who is mom's healthcare power of attorney. Tell them you thought you were. They'll let you know in a New York Minute.

Inheritance: there won't be any, because memory care homes run $10K a month, which quickly evaporates any savings. If sis is a Guardian, that was awarded by a Judge in the county court. The nursing home would have copies. They don't have to show these to you.
