You would actually need to contact the Los Angeles county department of social services. And there is no way to guarantee they can be in the same room, let alone same facility because both would be on Medi-cal and you’d have to find a facility with 2 Medi-cal beds. It CAN be done though but they may not be in the same room right away. My husbands grandparents both went to long term care on medi-cal and eventually shared a room. The sister with the higher income can go on Medi-cal. Social services has eligibility workers that can help with this.

According to your profile info, the main question is how do two sisters go into a facility and live together in the same room, when one qualifies for Medi-Cal and the other doesn't, correct? Have you spoken to someone in the Dept of Health and Human Services to see if there are any options for them? Have you spoken to any admin people in a facility?
