Does your friend not have family? Can she afford in home care? Its not cheap. Having someone live in comes with a lot of responsibility. First, they are not self-employed. Friend will be the employer and will need to deduct taxes and SS and match the SS. She must pay at least minimum wage and room and board cannot be considered part of the aides pay. Just like a job, you can't work them over 40hrs and time and half for anything over 40. The aide must have time off. Check with your Labor Board to see what the laws are in your job. A contract should be made up.

Not sure if Social Services can help u.
