Hello, thank you in advance for reading this and passing in any thoughts. My mom has ALZ and her native language is Korean. She recently moved to be closer my sister and I. Sadly we don’t speak Korean, and there aren’t many Koreans in my area. I’ve been searching but haven’t found any options for a virtual pen pal or conversation pal in her language. I’d love to hear any suggestions. Thanks!

Find Care & Housing
I have used VR Chat to meet up with people from around the world. They have rooms that are based around language. I have even met some people in their 60's. This one older dude has become like the grandpa of our group.

If you are use to technology you might be able to find someone using that. You will run into some cringe and it is mostly younger kids.

There are certain to be one or more Korean Associations in the USA. Do a Google search and find one. Then send them an email asking for what your mother needs – a pen pal or a phone pal. If you don’t get a reply, try another association. If (not likely) you can’t get any help, look for a pen pal in Korea! Best wishes, Margaret

I found this online. Since it’s virtual, it shouldn’t matter that it’s not in your area.
