Look for free tax preparation help from the IRS VITA program. Volunteers are trained by the IRS to help the elderly and low income taxpayers do their taxes. They schedule appointments usually at places like libraries. Look for dates and locations near you.

You have to declare the 1099 as miscellaneous income on your tax return. See a tax consultant in your area. Be aware that if you have a paying job, you have to report that to whoever is paying your disability.

You can earn a certain amount of money while on many disability programs. I think it depends on who pays you. I'm pretty sure Social Security lets you work part time. Check with your local government's aging care agency to find resources for free or low cost advice for your situation.

I am assuming by "altimeters" you mean Alzheimer's dementia? Right? As far as your taxes, may I suggest a free tax filing program FreeTaxUSA.com and the program asks you simple questions that you fill in and they will compute if you owe (which you probably do not) taxes or you get a refund. I just completed my taxes yesterday and our refund will be issued after Jan. 31. Good luck!

You might try looking up AARP. They do taxes for free, and are found in many places. And you don't even need to be a member of AARP.

Need help with public transportation? Look into what transit will take your application, your ID and a picture. You will need a licensed therapist to confirm your disability and sign your form. It is well worth saving whatever costs you can.
