Mother (96), doesn't want me here, can be very abusive verbally. How do you deal with someone who never particularly cares for you, now you have to care for them?

I am sorry to hear about your mom's verbal abuse. Given her age this could be due to advanced dementia. Or side effects of medications. I know its hard that she can't give you more consideration but maybe this is because of her advanced age.

If you choose to walk away from her day to day care, I would talk with Adult Protective Service, a social worker, family therapist, or family doctor about alternative options of care for your mother.
