How do I deal with my aging father whom I have lived with for 15 years. He is very grumpy and extremely critical of me.

I Don't want to have any resentment towards my father. I had more freedom when I was 15 than I do now. Watching him age and his personality changes is killing me. He is a chain smoker sleeps on and off all day long and watches TV while I'm at work.
I am Dani I am actually writing this for my brother, my brother and my father live in Las Vegas I live in California and I am terminally ill and can't even go and visit for a weekend. Please help me to give advice to my brother!!!

He says "personality changes". Time for Dad to have a full physical. Labs and cognitive testing. Personality doesn't change as we age. There is a reason for it.

Hi Dani, why does your brother feel he needs to stay with a mean man, inhaling toxic secondhand smoke, and not living his own life? Your father should be taking care of his own needs, or if he can’t, hiring help for himself. And your brother should move away from him
