I was working 2nd shift at an amazing job, till my husband basically pulled my arm to take care of his elderly grandparents. She’s 81 with CHF, dementia that’s getting worse and now just got put on oxygen. His grandfather is 89 and can get around as good as he can, but I hate it. I don’t want to do it anymore. I want to go back to my old job and old life. I don’t know what to do. It’s just me and my mother in law taking care of them but I absolutely hate it and I literally dread it everyday. And my 4 year old comes with me everyday and she doesn’t have a childhood anymore and I don’t have a life either. What do I do?

Find Care & Housing
Have you told your husband how you feel? You’re no good as a caregiver when you’re as certain as you sound that it’s the wrong job for you. It’s not for everyone and it’s time you discussed this with husband and family. Tell them what you’ve said here and work with them to find a better care situation for husbands grandparents. All involved deserve better

Time to pull hubs arm and tell him you are unhappy and want your life back! Is there a cultural reason you have to do this? Your MIL is also doing this, and if it is too much for one person.. maybe it's time to get some outside help? And not you and your little daughter getting pulled in, she deserves a normal childhood . You must be pretty young to have a 4 YO, and this could go on for awhile. If you hate it, this may not make you the best choice, and hubs needs to know this. Plus your job would be contributing to you and hubs future.
