My husband isn't mentally that far gone yet. He knows when he gets his meds and when he doesn't. He states that they aren't giving him his evening meds and the NH keeps giving one excuse after another.

eeyore12, we also need to remember that when someone has memory issues to a point where they now reside in a skilled nursing facility, that the patient tends to lose concept of time and what is going on around them.

It could be your husband is getting his pills but he has forgotten. Is your husband telling you that the Nursing Home is making excuses or is the Nursing Home speaking to you directly?

And watch your bill so you aren’t being charged for meds he’s not getting.

Ask to see his med record.. The med nurse should note date and time individual meds are given. Sometime things will be discontinued or dosage changed by the NH Dr. The med nurse will be RN OR LPN and they are required to stay with the patient and watch him/her actually take the meds.

Sorry - the NH admits that he isn't getting his meds and explains why but their reasons are feeble; or the NH disputes that he isn't getting his meds and says that he is?
