At night while I am trying to rest he will pee on his floor,  scream in his room or leave and get in trouble in the house, found a plant dirt and all thrown on my couch this morning. If I try to get him to bed he becomes aggressive.

So sorry that you are dealing with this, especially since he is so young. Yikes!

You're right - you can not live like this!

How to keep him awake during the day....Will he get up for meals? Get him outside into the sun first thing in the morning, if possible, so that maybe his brain will get the message that it's day time and he should be awake. Can you get him to go for a walk? Out for a drive? Other things to stimulate him during the day?

At night, have you tried melatonin? Having a bedtime routine? I don't know if normal bedtime routines help with a person with his level of dementia. I'm no expert but it seems pretty advanced from your description of his behavior.

I think you really need some outside help! Someone to help keep him busy during the day so he will stay awake. Someone for some hours at night so YOU can sleep! Your health is really at risk here.

I would also consider looking into a facility for him. This is way too much for you to deal with at home. He could continue like this for many years.

Have you talked to his doctor about this and seen about any med changes? Some meds make people sleepy - so take them at night instead of in the morning. Maybe something can help calm him down at night so he might settle down and sleep for awhile.

Good luck.
