Typically, nursing homes use all of the income a resident receives with the exception of a small amount designed to cover personal care items, hair care, etc. Is that money available? As to the transport, speak with the social worker at the nursing home. I'd be surprised if they aren't covered. AND most nursing homes have the doctors come to the facility. Isn't that happening at your loved one's place?

Is your LO now qualified for Medicaid? Most of those items should now be covered, like transport to the doctor.
