I appreciate this site very much but I would like to also connect to caregivers in my local area. I have googled, email etc without much luck. Lots of spouse groups. Does anyone have any experience with this? Thanks,

What kind of caregiver are you looking for? If it is as simple as Adult Day Sitting, you may try something like "home instead" care. The company I work for has a sister company that does this type of work. This type of company won't touch the person unless there is a medical need (CPR), they are mostly for companionship. If you are looking for something more hands on, you may need some sort of home health company like "caretenders". Normally, the companionship type of care you will have to pay for and if it is a home health type care, you may have luck with insurance paying for it. Hope that helps

Sorry I wasn't very clear. I am looking for other caregivers taking care of their parents. Compare resources, ideas for what we have in our area.

Hi Debmcd1256,

While signed in to AgingCare.com, go to your profile and click the "LOCAL" tab. If you haven't already entered your zip code you can do that and it will show you caregivers on AgingCare.com that are near you, who they are caring for and what their condition is. You can add those people to your favorites on their profiles and write on their walls to let them know you're looking to meet caregivers in your area!

I hope that helps. Let us know if you have any other questions.
