My father will not allow my wife and I in to help him keep his apartment clean. Our daughter and family were able to get it on Saturday for a few hours and did some cleaning and were able to convince him that he needs assistance. He stated that if his insurance will cover the cost he would allow assistance. He will not allow the family to pay someone to come in and clean. Thanks for your help.

Find Care & Housing
I'm sorry to say that house cleaning, even under these circumstances, is considered "custodial care" and few insurances will cover the cost. If he has a long-term care policy, they may pay, so you could check that out. I'm hoping that's the case. Otherwise, you could be in a bind. It's too bad he won't let you pay if he can't. You may be stuck with trying to get the family in now and then to shovel out.
Take care. You sound like good hearted people.

Can you get someone in when he has appt or out of the house for awhile? Maybe you could take him out for a drive and some lunch/dinner and someone can sneak in and clean..
