In 2024. I have reported this to every possible agency suggested and no one believes me. The grocery store ignored certified letter from attorney and deleted my store account. Everyone says I am wrong but when I review facts with some agencies they say it is criminal! I don’t know why I do everything suggested and remain being seen as crazy. I can’t afford a legal case and can’t walk anymore, how to proceed?

Going forward, go online and order your mother's groceries for delivery. You can use your local store, Amazon Fresh, or Walmart; probably some others. You can even order non-perishables from regular Amazon, if you want, although sometimes they come in a case or a box that's heavy to lift. Or you can order and send the aide to to do curbside or in-store pickup.

By ordering yourself you don't have to give anyone else the credit card(s).

You could use small claims court for the aide. Lawyers aren't allowed so you and the aide would just present your sides to a judge. The cost is a minimal filing fee. The court will notify her of when to appear. However you would have to convince the judge, so evaluate whether you have enough evidence to prove your claims.

Use a different credit card and a different store. Do the ordering yourself instead of relying on someone else. If you live in a metropolitan area you can try Amazon, they are amazing and deliver to your door in a 2-hour slot mostly the next day, you can also see all your ordered items and modify them before you hit “send”. You can also print your order before you send it.
If Amazon is not available in your area then ask others which store (like Walmart or any other large grocery store chain) they have used and if they have had any troubles there.
Recommendations from others are usually reliable.
Do not let others take advantage of you, good luck.

DUPLICATE POST

Of course it is criminal -- but that's not the issue here.

The issue is whether this is a *provable* crime (which is now about 1 year old) AND whether any "agency" would waste their time on a small potato claim like this. I wouldn't. Please give it up, it's not worth it.

Again, even in this duplicate post, you do not tell us HOW MUCH those 157 items cost in total. It's probably not a felony. Police and "agencies" are engaged in solving much bigger crimes.

For the record, no caregiver should hand over a credit or debit card (or check) to a hired employee/helper no matter what. You are asking for trouble. Order online and have it delivered. Problem solved.

First its Moms credit card and now its yours? There is probably nothing you can do because how are you going to separate items from a grocery order? These are Moms, these are not. Thats your word against an aide saying they were used for Mom.

I see all the time when I shop people separating orders and charging them separately. Did you bring this problem up to the aide? No problem in her doing her grocery shopping when she does Moms but she needs to keep the orders separate. Mom's gets charged to her credit card and the aide pays for her items separately.

Sorry, but I don't think at this point there ia anything you can do. Grocery stores have gift cards. Use them. inform the aide that the cards are only to be used for Mom. If she picks up items at the store, she pays for them separately.
