my mom is 78 years old she did hip replacement 3 weeks ago she has dementia and she needs not to bend and cross her legs , but she dose it .for how long she needs to take hip replacement precautions
Very sad, I know four people who had 100% successful hip replacements. That anesthesia is bad news, each time they go under it they come out worse. They tried to do my moms hip surgery with a spinal due to her beginnings of dementia at that time, her back arthritis was too bad thou. Avoid anesthesia at all costs.
My mother had hip surgury 1 1/2 yrs ago. She was not to cross her legs and keep up with physical therapy everyday. And she did neither. Today she is in so much pain that she has to take meds 3 or 4 hours a day. The surgury made her dementia worse. The meds (Tylenol) thins her blood so she is always cold even in hot weather. She is very stubborn. You just have to keep telling her not to cross her legs or the bones will not heal right. My mother waddles now because of the pain. Good luck and keep after her. Nobody else will. Yes, the doctor should have told you. Hugs.
