How does one hide a key for a paramedic? Mom lives alone, so what if she cannot open the door for an emergency worker?

Why not call the non-emergency police or fire number and ask for their advice? It seems like a problem, especially if she lives in a neighborhood that is at all questionably safe. In the "good old days", her door could just be left unlocked!
