Hey everyone, I just saw this on a thread here, and on other forums there's a way to report very inappropriate posters (above simply flagging the post itself) - is there a way to do that here? Please see the thread below and the recent, disgusting post from Louis - methinks he's a troll, and perhaps something should be done?

Find Care & Housing
Sounds like some one was burned out and just posted a sarcastic comment. I think them some times but never post.. Glad it's gone anyway.
I have often contacted the mods by email and always get a helpful reply. it is usually because i am not getting notifications and they always fix things quickly.

LOL, I promise I'm not crazy, it really was there! But I'm glad to see it's gone. Thanks, all!

Also, to be clear, it's not that it upset me, I just thought it should probably be removed quickly. I'm on other forums and am a semi-moderator on one of them, so I'm used to reporting posts; they kind of rely on us for that. But, the other forums is also HUGE, so the mods can't always know what's going on unless we report directly.  I know every forum is different on how things work, though, hence this post.  Thanks again, everyone!

FF and Ali,
All gone!
Thanks for letting us know that the offending post is gone.

I was starting to get a little worried when going to that question, reading and not finding something offensive.......

The comment is already gone. The mods seem to do a great job around here as we rarely see something like that. I'm sure they likely field all kinds of random inappropriate stuff posted and commented here. It is the Internet, after all. :-)

In my opinion, the Report button works well enough.  I've never contacted through another way to Report something, but good to know there is an option for that.

WhirledTravel,
Sorry that the post has upset you. It is good that you are community minded and all.
Today is a holiday (in the U.S.), so maybe the moderators are on vacation.

Perhaps you can move on, and re-check the post next week.

My friends wrote me a long time ago to explain that this site is really just a public forum, for informational purposes only, and there will be trolls, upsetting comments in cyber worlds.
They advised at that time not to take it all so seriously.

It is not that your concern doesn't have merit.
It is just that sometimes, when caregivers get so overwhelmed, or even close to burnout, we tend to focus more on things we think we can control, or maybe fix. At a time when our own lives seem out of control, we can take the world too seriously.

Have some coffee, sit down with a cupcake. Talk to your friends on here.
No worries.....there are quite a few experienced posters who will take care of the offending poster for you. You don't have to do a thing, I promise.

The moderators are lovely and very quick to respond if you ever need them. Umm, now you've got me, can't remember offhand where they hide out...

Oh yes, scroll right down to the bottom of the page and you'll see "Contact Us", very bottom line, second from the left.

Looks like that posting to that thread has been removed.

Barb - thanks, I did that. I guess I was asking if you all have mods around here to contact. I frequent another forum, and it's very easy to send a message directly to one of the moderators. I didn't know if that was the case here. I've tried the "contact us" link for the admins last week about a different question, and never got a response, so I didn't know if that would work in this case.

To be clear - I'm NOT talking about the entire thread, I'm talking about the recent post that was written by Louiecorr59M - he advised the original poster to go ahead and SLEEP WITH HIS MOM!!! I don't think that's legit. That's sick, and Louie's probably a troll.

Whirled, I think you are talking about the poster who said that the OP should just comply, right? You just hit the "report" button under the answer.

I've just come from there and I agree with cmagnum, the post seems legit to me.

If you read the answers on that thread, you will see that this is not unusual for someone with dementia. For example, my dad wanted to take one of his female caregivers to bed with him once.

Well, you can comment and then report yourself, or a better way is to scroll down to the "contact us" link and contact the admins directly.
