Help please this may be a long shot I'm in VA. I was my mother's caregiver for years and helped my step dad though they aren't married they lived with me for 5 yrs. In may he moved them out, we both were POA since 2015 she's on hospice since 2015 I have all forms where I'm care giver and nurses stated she's confused on numerous visits with the signed sheets. Now I'm only allowed 2 days a week scheduled my "step father" is on a power trip. All of a sudden he is POA no papers shown. She's on high medications how is this possible and bedridden. Can't walk and so much more. I'm running out of time with my mama. She has told me numerous times she wants me there she wants to see me but doesn't want to argue with him it's his house. PLEASE HELP ME WE ONLY GET ONE CHANCE THERE IS NO SECONDS. This is my mama.. TIME IS OF THE ESSENCE I'M A SINGLE MOTHER AND HE FIRED ME. FORGED HER NAME ON DISCONTINUE OF EMPLOYMENT FORM I HAVE ALL OF IT. PLEASE.. HELP ..

Find Care & Housing
Since time is of the essence, perhaps it would be most expedient if you make peace with her "husband" and get permission to visit her daily. Is there something he is worried about you doing? Can you promise not to do it? (For example, talk about a will)

Otherwise I think I'd call Adult Protection Services and report that your mother is being denied visitors, against her will.

I would contact an attorney. You said they are not married. If she
Wants to live with you and she was of sound mind to sign new POA
Papers, why ca’t she now determine her own destination? You are the next of kin.

I would be talking to a lawyer. Check the laws where you live and see if a common law relationship has the same rights and privileges as a married couple.
