Check out UCSF (UNIVERSITY OF CALIF, SAN FRANCISCO) Audiology Clinic. There is a lengthy audio therapy for hyperacusis. Has the person with this been checked out for this a medication side effect? It may go along with some neurological problems, like MS. You might start with an ENT doctor. It's a rare disorder. My husband has always complained about some sounds like crunching potato chips or metal silverware on a plate when those sounds are made in an otherwise rather quiet environment.
