Oh course you are right Veronica91 I do know that patients can be non compliant and manipulative! It is not easy to care for someone we love... Sometimes other folks can do things we can not!

So she is addicted to pain pills. maybe she needs them. There must be some basis for their prescription.
How is the diabetes controlled, diet, pills or insulin. Where does she not co operate. What kinds of things does your sister and niece allow her to do. Food is a big one I am guessing, sweet things are a great addiction for diabetics probably even worse than smoking and pain pills .It is almost impossible to control a devious diabetic. Is someone with her 24/7? Can she use the internet or phone. Restraunts will deliver as will liquor stores,. Even a pharmacy will stock candies if not regular food. People feel sorry for shut ins and will do stuff that is not good for them. "Just one little pot pie can't hurt her, her daughters are so mean. She's so sick already, it can't really matter" You may not know enough about food stuffs either. Orange juice all natural sounds like a healthy choice but it is loaded with sugar. Jaye the Dr can monitor all he likes but it does not mean she will do what she is told. Easy enough to go to the clinic with an acceptable blood sugar. One Italian lady I know was sending her order out for lunch and then she was approved for an electric scooter and she was all over the place. Only had her SSI and that was all she needed to spend her money on . her son would bring her rolls of quarters for the laundr and no one believed she did that much laundry every day.
Got off subject there but you can send Mom to N/H someone just has to pay for it.. N/H loves private pay patients, they make far more money than with Medicare/Medicaid . The problem comes when their money runs out and they apply for Medicaid. If they don't meet the guidelines the N/ Hcan't keep them

I am not sure I understand either. If she is diabetic the Doctor would be monitoring her closely. YOU cannot put her in a nursing home, the Dr will. I am my Mother's primary caregiver I have many years of nursing experience and she can be a challenge at times. Perhaps it would be better for everyone if you had some home care help... Bed sores can be very dangerous and need to be attended to . take care...
