Health concerns about condition of house. Any advice?

Where I live agencies (and facilities) are begging for workers, there are never enough to go around. If the cleaning isn't done by the promised date then I think you are perfectly in the right to refuse to work there until it is done. Would your agency not back you up?

To be honest, her rugs probably need to be replaced. Urine has probably gotten into the mat and no amount of shampooing is going to get it out. I would not work in that house. I personally can't stand smells.

Speak with your supervisor to see what you can do. Chances are the air quality in this home is not all that great and if you will be there daily for hours at a time, it will absolutely affect your health. Perhaps your supervisor can speak with this lady’s family and discuss your concern. If her home has been in this condition for a while, you may not be the first caregiver to bring this up. This is not a healthy situation for this lady or her pets, either.

I am unsure in this case. There is only one steady supervisor and the supervisor assigned to this client is new. I have been trying to get a hold of them to notify them that the clients care plan needs to be adjusted.
