He sees a red airplane flying around the ceiling of his room and someone nudging him at nights. Anyone had this type of experience?

If he hasn't been diagnoised with Dementia/ALZ then you need to see if he has a UTI. If that comes up negative Dad needs a good check up to rule out other things. He may be in early stages of Dementia.

What about hallucinations from meds too? Those happen also.

If your dad has been formally diagnosed with dementia, I can tell you with absolute certainty that this is a big part of the disease. When my mother became obsessed that a man in her apartment complex was stalking her I became very suspicious that “something” was going on. She wouldn’t be convinced that the man was just going for a morning walk outside. She was convinced he was spending his nights with the (elderly) women in the complex. At one point, I finally said, “Well, good for him!” But then it got more serious when she started calling 9-1-1. As her dementia progressed, she was consumed by hallucinations and delusions of all kinds from spy cameras in the ceiling fixtures of her room in the nursing home to the “family who owned the apartment building” (it was a nursing home in Cleveland , but to her it was an apartment in Chicago) moving the entire building to Russia overnight.

As JoAnn says, if he hasn’t seen his doctor for a while, he needs to go. If he refuses, we usually say tell them they need to go to keep their insurance.

I figure it must me Dementia. He is not on any medication at all. He drove my mother crazy the poor woman was a walking pharmaceutical. I just talked with him again and he claims he not imagining anything he is saw and heard what he saw and heard. Now that he is keeping the led light on he has not heard the voices or seen the red small airplane.

I don't know, my spouse and I own two small real airplanes he has seen photos but never the actual airplanes and one is red and one is burgundy...could be considered red. He doesn't like going to the doctors, he actual dislikes them. He has a great memory for 86, he can remember people's telephone numbers from his memory...I only know his number, my sister's and my spouses that is it.
