My Mom was taught to lean with her back against the side of the seat, then lift her body slightly and swivel or slide her hips and body into the passenger seat. She is 4' 10". She no longer has the strength to lift her body once she gets on the seat.

Using that method to enter the car still works, however, she is now incontinent. She leaks through her Depends. We still haven't figured out how the leaks happen.

Amazon has washable car seat pads, however, she wouldn't be able to sit on them, due to the way she enters the car. Most of the car seat covers seem to move if someone "swivels" on them when they get into car.

How can I keep my car seat free of urine? Does anyone have any solutions that has worked?

Chopped, I would buy those sheet snaps (used to secure oversized sheets or flat sheets as a fitted sheet), you can get them at Walmart for less then 10 bucks for 4. They look like garter belts of old and you can use an oversized washable or disposal chux and attach it to the seat.

Vinegar will get rid of the odor that has already happened.

Thank you. I actually use that hack on the dining room and kitchen chairs. However with the car, because she slides in, the waterproof liner (similar to a puppy training pad) bunches up behind her and she is uncomfortable.

Amazon has washable pads for anyplace mom is sitting. My mom gets in the car the same way but the cotton quilted pad with vinyl backing does not move.

Try buying an oversized one. I did not buy one especially for cars. Place the pad where she first sits down & hold while she swivels.
