Find Care & Housing
I've got some information that might help but I don't know exactly what you're looking for. Are you working with cable or antenna? The TV can be programmed for favorites? Are there parental controls that can only allow certain channels? Are you talking about pairing a TV with cable, you can search that. As for mine(antenna),I've got to key in everything! On occasion I can use the back button to flip from 2 different stations. For mom,I had to block her from ordering cable movies. When it became difficult for her, I used liquid paper and drew circles around the power button and the source button(used to play the DVD player). I think smart TV is too smart for me, I hit a wrong button and I've got to hit the back button otherwise it will just keep bringing up the user agreement and not having cable it just keeps trying and trying. Usually if you hit settings you'll be able to navigate what you're looking for. A description will appear when you hit a topic. That's where "smart" comes in.

After a lot of what you're going through I just bought a "dumb TV. I found one on Amazon and then my mum could turn on the TV by herself!! It was great. When she died to donated it to the "home" she lived at for the next person tat couldn't handle all the potions.

"Use the TV’s Built-In “Power On to…” Feature:

Many smart TVs (Samsung, LG, Sony, TCL/Roku, Vizio) allow you to choose what happens when they power up:

Samsung → Settings → General → Smart Features → Power On with Last Input (or choose a specific app, like Hulu or YouTube TV).

LG webOS → Settings → General → System → Additional Settings → Power On Screen → choose HDMI input or app.

Sony/Android/Google TV → Settings → Device Preferences → Power → Auto Start app/input.

Roku TVs → Settings → System → Power → Power On → choose “Home screen,” “Last input,” or a specific HDMI input.

This means when you hit “Power,” the TV wakes directly into your chosen station, HDMI cable box, or app."
