But now the agitation has seemed to increase most nights going on into the night. I’m wondering if it is the med vs. increase in the disease. It mimics the delirium that accompanied a uti but urine analysis was negative. Any experience with seroquel woul be appreciated.

A combination of Seroquel and Ativan helped my mother tremendously. It may not be the best drug for your loved one or perhaps the dosage needs to be adjusted.

Also, drugs can take a few weeks before you become properly acclimated to them.

How long has your mom been on this drug?

Best wishes to you and your mom.

Discuss with MD. Some people have the opposite effect with meds. My own brother was given an ativan in hospital and it had him crawling up the walls with confusion. He just wasn't used to medications at all. And it is not uncommon in psyc units to give a med and have it effect a person in the opposite way it should.

Talk to your doctor about this before giving another med.
