My husband had a car accident 8 mo ago and it resulted in surgery and a TBI. He constantly asks me the same questions, and talks about the same things over and over. He doesn't want to listen and refuses to move forward doing things physically. He says he's not ready. But, he wants to drive oh so bad, and I just can't let him. He has no peripheral vision to his right, along with no quick reflexes. Do people with a TBI ever return to the way they were before?

What does his doctor say?
How severe was the trauma?
It is possible that it will take years, or it may never happen.
That is the reality of some TBI.
I think that you should prepare yourself for that and be glad for any improvement.
There is a very good possibility (and I mentioned this in one of your other posts/questions) that he may develop dementia due to the TBI. So a visit to a Elder Care Attorney to sort things out now and possibly for later is a good idea. You need to make sure that all paperwork is in order. Will, Trust (you might want to consider a Special Needs Trust just in case something happens to you)
As for repeating things, that sounds like a concussion. My husband had a bad one a few years ago (nnot a TBI) but maybe your husband's injury includes a concussion? What does his neurologist say about how to improve his abilities?
