How do you handle a family member tell you what to do with your aging parent?

Give that person something to do. Maybe they just want to help you.

Receive the suggestions with grace, reject them with humor, and come on here to express your anger, frustration, and amazement about what people can say.

If it's someone you never want to see again, maybe a good B. Slap. Make sure there are no witnesses.

iloveleah, reject the guilt! Unless she comes over to actually do the job, the guilt is all hers!

😊I was just amazed at the detail of how she said I could do things. Bed in this room,my work in this room... Blah blah. It will help keep her more lucid.( insert guilt here.)

Sorry, but they are just plain nosy. Tell them to come over and walk the walk so they don't have to ask about all the details. Ask what day works good for them.

Tell them that you are glad that they had such good thoughts and volunteered to do them. :)
