Caregiver #1 has been with us the longest but does not like Caregiver #2. I think she is jealous of the fact that Mom likes Caregiver #2. There has been more than one occasion that I am put in the middle of their "cat-fighting" and I have told both of them I don't care how they feel about one another; the only thing I care about is Mom and that she is safe and happy. I am not in high school anymore! Anyone else have any other advice for me?

What brought this latest "fight" on is the fact that I changed the schedule 2 months ago in order to give each caregiver more time off during the week (each one got 2 full days off) but Caregiver #1 didn't like the schedule so I switched it back. Caregiver #1 called Caregiver #2 today and asked if I had discussed it with her. She said "of course she did". Caregiver #1 didn't hang up the phone and was screaming about Caregiver #2's comments. Granted, I wasn't there and didn't hear the conversation.

How do you know about the conversation between caregiver #1 and #2? Next time one of them comes to you complaining about something the other said or did tell them you don't want to hear about it. As long as they are not both working there together it shouldn't be an issue, at least not to YOU. Make sure they carry out their duties in a professional manner and make sure they leave the drama in the school yard!

Caregiver #2 called me to tell me AFTER Mom had overheard it and wanted her to let me know. I have told Caregiver #2 on numerous occasions that as long as Mom is taken care of, I don't care. They can hate me, no skin off my nose.

I agree with you, take it outside or get over it. The only person that matters is Mom. As long as she is cared for, and I can work, who cares.
