My grandmother took out a life insurance policy and she has passed away. I am going through a divorce. Do I have to share the proceeds?

Were you listed as the only beneficiary? Was your grandmother the owner of the policy? If these things are true and you nor your husband contributed toward the payments of the policy, then it belongs to you. It isn't an asset of the marriage. Put the money in a separate account so it will be earmarked as personal money.
