My grandmother passed away, she has a U.S. bank account with $1500 left in it. The bank said she needs an affadavit (CA). How do I do this?

My grandmother lived overseas, and she had a bank account here. Sadly, she passed away last year. She left a bank account in CA with less than $2000. My mom is having trouble getting the form so she can have the account closed and cashed out. And frankly, so am I . I can't find the form anywhere (Court site, the bank said they don't have one but the Court site says its at the bank). Anyhow, my parents could really use the money and my mom is allowed to have it. How do I get an Affadavit form for her?

Is the Small Estate Affidavit used in Texas, also to close out bank account.

Thank you for the links I went on the sites and was not able to find the form itself I looked through all of the probate forms ..Maybe I can make my own??

It's Affadavit for Transfer of Personal Property Worth $150,000 or Less. I googled it and it is nowhere to be found.

You've got to find out the EXACT NAME of the affidavit they want you to present. Once you have the exact name, Google it with California after its name. You should be able to get one off the internet.

In Illinois, what you'd need is called a Small Estate Affidavit. Don't know what it's called in California.

Just "affidavit" tells you nothing. There is more to the name than that. California probably has dozens and dozens of different types of affidavits.
