My husband also has Parkinson's Disease with early Lewy Body Dementia. It just recently has gotten to much for me to handle. I need someone to help with showering and dressing him. God only knows what else I need. I think I will soon figure it out. Help me with ideas if you have some....I live in Michigan, Livingston county.

Thank you freqflyer. Years ago when we lived in Ann Arbor I had a two person team come in for assistance. Tom didnn't have Parkinson' Diease yet. The two men were wonderful but they decided the 'patient' was uncoperative and they closed his case. (Personally) I don't blame them. Thank you once again...

Your best bet is to call your local Agency on Aging to see what programs or suggestions they can give you. Unless there is a caregiver on here who lives in your area to help with ideas.

There are bathing Aides that one can hire through a caregiver Agency.

Another idea, see if your husband can apply and be accepted by Medicaid [which is different from Medicare]. Each State has their own rules and programs. Your State might have a program where an Aide can come in to help you couple times a week, to give you a break.
