Does anyone have any recommendations for a good back doctor? My mom is in debilitating pain from spinal stenosis and is not a candidate for surgery - too many complications. She is on heavy duty pain meds but she still can't walk. She went from active to bedridden in a matter of 2 weeks. I have been unable to find a doctor willing to rid her of the pain which, to me, seems like such an easy thing to do - morphine pumps, epidural injections, verteplasty - many non invasive procedures. I have even looked at medical marijuana though we are not eligible for it in Virginia but I can move to DC. I am at a complete loss. Any help would be appreciated

If she is bedridden, call Hospice. They are not afraid to make morphine available. I would not recommend marijuana for excruciating pain. It is very good with nausea and anxiety, even glaucoma, but not pain.

There are numerous spine institutes in northern Virginia..... such as the Virginia Spine Institute in Reston..... INOVA Spine Institute which is part of the INOVA hospital system..... Spine Care Center located in Manassas.

For other names, Google "spine centers in Virginia" for other locations throughout the Commonwealth.
