How do you handle getting groceries and other supplies when you are house-bound?
My wife has ALZ and she can not be alone at home. We have part time caregivers during the week and this gives me limited time to go out shopping.
Gone are the days of running errands at the drop of a hat.
My solution so far is:
All manner of goods are available from Amazon.com. We have their prime shipping service so orders are delivered in two days six days a week. I price compare by checking stores that have web sites. For example I just received a case of soup, inkjet ink cartridges and repair parts for a kitchen faucet, and a pair of shoes. All with free delivery.
Prime comes from another family member.
There are two grocery stores that offer home delivery (with a charge)
There are commercial delivery services that will bring dinners from local restaurants. It is great to be able to look over menus on line.
There are a lot of pizza and Chinese restaurants which deliver.
My wife's clothing comes from Buck and Buck, LL Bean, and Amazon.
I monitor my activity using a free service from Mint.com. I see every credit card purchase and check deposit immediately and they offer product categories. I know how much we spent on depends or prescriptions, services etc.
How do you buy things you need if your stuck at home?
I can't imagine that anyone will be able to add much to your list, but I do know that you've provided a wonderful service to others by sharing what you've found.

My aging parents are still very much independent except for driving. Ordering groceries on-line has been a godsend for me as I was getting so tried of going to the grocery store twice a week [once for them, once for me].
I was just wondering, can your wife go out for a ride in your car? If the answer is yes, does your grocery store have curb-side pick-up for your on-line order? That would get the both of you out of the house for a while, and your wife can remain in the car while the trunk is packed.
Now, if we could get doctors to do house-calls like they did 50 some years ago, that would be so helpful.

My best time saver has been getting prescriptions sent to the house. Once it is set up approval has to go through the prescribing doctor. I use Express Scripts.
Since you have most of your needs taken care of via the mail, I hope you use the caregiver time to take care of yourself.....like see your doctor, dentist, relax with a cup of coffee, get exercise, take a walk, etc Do you go to an Alz support group?

Once in awhile Rx's fall into a category that requires
taking the RX to the pharmacy.
One Rx is often short stocked at CVS and
Walgreen's. I used to be able to check availability by phone, now
they will only check stock when they see the paper Rx.

My own health issues get me up often during the night. I am constantly tired.
My own office work and household chores are constantly in need of attention.

Yes I have a carer scheduled on the meeting day so I can go to meeting
